Part-Time Lecturer – Transversal Studio: Sense and Interaction

About the role

The School of Art, Design, and Media at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Part‑time Lecturer to teach DS1101 Transversal Studio: Sense and Interaction, an introductory undergraduate studio that begins in January 2027. The role involves delivering lectures, guiding hands‑on studio work, and introducing students to interaction design principles and creative technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the DS1101 studio course, covering interaction design fundamentals, materials, environments, and technologies.
• Facilitate hands‑on exercises and studio projects, guiding students from research and observation to prototyping and presentation.
• Introduce and supervise the use of tools such as Arduino, sensors, TouchDesigner, and introductory Python for interactive prototyping.

Required profile

• Master’s and/or Ph.D. in Interaction Design, Creative Technologies, Media Arts, Product Design, Design Engineering, Digital Media, or a related field.
• Prior undergraduate teaching experience is preferred; candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and substantial industry experience may be considered in exceptional cases.
