Part‑time English Teacher (Hourly)

About the role

The British Council Singapore is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic English language teacher to join its teaching team on a part‑time, hourly‑paid basis. You will deliver high‑quality lessons to a diverse range of learners, from young children to adult professionals, and help maintain the Council’s reputation for excellence in English education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one and group English lessons for young learners, adults, and business professionals.
• Teach specialised programmes such as Young Learner enrichment courses, English camps, Business English, General English, and IELTS preparation.
• Adapt teaching materials and approaches to meet the needs of up to 18 students per class.
• Use technology appropriately to enhance learning experiences.
• Complete class registers and related administrative tasks within agreed timeframes.
• Participate in professional development activities and share best practices with colleagues.

Required profile

• Undergraduate or university degree.
• Relevant teaching certification (e.g., CELTA, Trinity Certificate in TEFL).
• Demonstrated experience teaching English to speakers of other languages.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
