Patient Service Associate (Ambulatory Surgical Centre)

About the role

NUH is hiring a Patient Service Associate for its Ambulatory Surgical Centre. The role delivers friendly, efficient customer service and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors, with the aim of providing excellent patient care and satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Registration: register incoming patients, give financial counselling for changes in level of care, collect deposits, submit claims and present final billing, follow up non-resident bills, and enter MEDISAVE guarantor details in the system
• Counter: welcome visitors, direct them to the right person, answer queries about patient movements and surgery lists, support the Charge Nurse with patient arrivals and bed requests, arrange discharges and appointment tracing, book porter services and refreshments, and run daily ward statistics
• E-Census: prepare the ward census, admission and final lists, extract patient information from the EPIC electronic medical records, assign beds by diagnosis, age and condition, review case notes, and coordinate with the Eye Clinic and Pharmacy on cancer medications and eye appointments
• Manage patient wait times and keep patients informed

Required profile

• At least GCE 'N'/'O' level education
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients and clients
• Practical knowledge of hospital operations is an added advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in computer skills (MS Office)
• Use of the e-LOG system and EPIC electronic medical records
