Payroll and Tax Specialist – P&O Operations

About the role

As a Payroll and Tax Specialist within People & Organisation Operations, you will ensure accurate, compliant and timely payroll, tax and payroll accounting services for employees in Singapore and China. You will work closely with Finance, Global Shared Services and external vendors to maintain strong controls and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end monthly payroll processing for Singapore and China, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure payroll complies with statutory, tax and internal policy requirements.
• Collaborate with Global Shared Services, third‑party payroll providers and tax vendors for data requests, issue resolution and compliance.
• Perform detailed payroll reviews, validations and reconciliations.
• Act as first point of contact for employee and stakeholder payroll queries.
• Oversee annual income tax reporting, submissions and coordination with tax authorities.
• Administer tax clearance (IR21) for departing foreign employees.
• Investigate and resolve payroll and tax discrepancies, implementing appropriate controls.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of payroll and tax regulations in Singapore and China.
• Experience partnering with shared services and external payroll/tax vendors.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
