Planner & Control Specialist – Manufacturing

About the role

The Planner and Control specialist ensures production, inventory and material resources planning are executed accurately, providing on‑time material supply to manufacturing and engineering teams at Applied Materials in Singapore. This role combines MRP oversight, SAP work‑order management and data‑driven analysis to support semiconductor equipment production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain SAP work‑order release schedule to deliver material on time to manufacturing and engineering.
• Perform pre‑shortage analysis, work‑order variance analysis and reschedule discrete jobs as needed.
• Review MRP execution, reconcile supply and demand, and validate master scheduling requirements.
• Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and provide status reports on ECOs and ECRs.
• Analyze inventory usage, forecast spare‑part needs, and resolve material variances.
• Conduct data analysis, statistical mining and create visualisations using Tableau, Python or SQL to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in production, inventory or material resources planning, preferably with SAP and MRP systems.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in root‑cause analysis, corrective actions and cycle‑count processes.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineers, finance and operations teams.
• Effective communication skills for presenting complex information and building consensus.
