PR Director – APAC

About the role

Cohere, a security‑first enterprise AI company, is building a storytelling engine to share its AI narrative across the APAC region. As PR Director, you will establish and lead the PR and Communications function, partnering with global Corporate Communications to craft culturally resonant messages for governments, enterprises, and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Build the APAC PR and Communications function from scratch, hiring PR managers and agencies in key territories such as Korea, Singapore, Japan, India, and Australia.
• Design and execute PR and corporate communications strategies aligned with Cohere’s goals, values, and brand positioning.
• Collaborate with PR, marketing, sales, and external stakeholders to create compelling messaging and materials supporting business priorities.
• Develop rapid‑response capabilities and oversee high‑impact forums including executive speaking engagements, industry conferences, and customer events.
• Integrate AI tools to enhance content ideation, creation, and scaling for the communications team.
• Lead cross‑functional storytelling initiatives that amplify customer success, executive thought leadership, and Cohere’s mission.

Required profile

• 12–15 years of in‑house corporate communications experience, preferably in fast‑growing tech or AI companies.
• 5+ years of people‑management experience, including hiring and overseeing PR agencies.
• Proven track record with pre‑IPO communications and policy/regulatory messaging.
• Exceptional writing ability to distill complex topics into clear narratives.
• Highly organised, process‑driven, and comfortable navigating senior‑level relationships.
