Primary School Teacher (Grades 2‑5)

About the role

UWCSEA is seeking an enthusiastic Primary School Teacher for its Dover Campus, starting August 2027. You will work with children aged 7‑11 (Grades 2‑5) to create a happy, stimulating, and safe learning environment that fosters curiosity and joy.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, teach, and assess developmentally appropriate lessons that promote each child’s growth.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages energy, fun, and learning.
• Reflect continuously on teaching practice and engage in professional development.
• Communicate clearly with parents about learning progress and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and colleagues to design lessons, share resources, and support student growth.
• Participate actively in the five elements of the UWCSEA programme: Academics, Activities, Outdoor Education, Personal & Social Education, and Service.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities, service projects, and occasional outdoor education trips.
• Uphold the UWCSEA Professional Code of Conduct and Safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• A degree in Primary Education from an accredited institution and a recognized teaching qualification.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience with 7‑11‑year‑olds (preferred).
• Experience in an international school setting and with English Language Learners or neurodiverse students is an advantage.
• Bi/multilingual ability and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Reflective practitioner who seeks innovative practices to raise achievement.
• Willingness to work autonomously while collaborating closely with the school community.
