Principal Capital Supplier Manager

About the role

Micron is hiring a global, senior individual-contributor Principal Capital Supplier Manager. The role owns end-to-end commercial responsibility for one or more critical capital equipment categories and strategic suppliers, driving cost competitiveness, supply resilience, category strategy and executive-level supplier engagement for Micron's manufacturing network.

Key responsibilities

• Own and define global category strategies for capital equipment such as Etch, Wet Process, CMP, Deposition, Implant, Fab Support, Photo and Metrology
• Lead market intelligence: supplier landscape and capability mapping, technology roadmaps, pricing models and long-term cost curves
• Shape dual-source and alternate-source strategies and supply base optimization to reduce concentration and continuity risks
• Act as Micron's primary commercial lead for strategic suppliers, including executive reviews and escalation governance
• Drive alignment on capacity commitments, technology enablement and long-term partnership frameworks
• Lead high-stakes multi-year global negotiations on tool pricing, volume leverage, service, spares and lifecycle costs, using should-cost, TCO and benchmarking models
• Deliver repeatable cost and productivity impact on capex, tool productivity and uptime, and drive multi-year savings roadmaps
• Partner with TD, OCT, Fab Engineering and Operations, Planning and Finance, and act as procurement subject matter expert
• Mentor staff and senior CSMs on negotiation strategy, market intelligence and supplier engagement, and lead complex global initiatives as an individual contributor

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business
• 5+ years in capital procurement, engineering or category management (semiconductor preferred)
• Deep domain expertise in capital equipment economics and supplier behavior
• Demonstrated success in global negotiations and category leadership
• Strong executive presence, comfortable engaging SVP/CEO-level supplier leadership
