Principal Engineer, Electrical & Control Engineering

About the role

Micron is looking for a Principal Engineer, Electrical & Control Engineering to lead its Fab10 Facilities Electrical & Control Engineering team. The role ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the electrical and automation infrastructure supporting semiconductor manufacturing, and drives continuous improvement aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of electrical and control engineers to meet safety, reliability and cost performance targets.
• Promote the adoption of AI, machine learning and digital technologies in facilities operations to improve reliability, efficiency and decision-making.
• Ensure safe operation and upkeep of HV, MV, LV distribution systems, UPS, generators, PLC, SCADA, instrumentation and automation systems.
• Drive equipment reliability and availability through predictive maintenance, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Implement maintenance, asset management and obsolescence strategies for critical infrastructure.
• Support capacity expansion, tool installation and facility upgrades with engineering leadership and project oversight.
• Manage contractors, engineering standards and compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Work with manufacturing, construction, procurement and global engineering teams, and monitor department budgets, energy efficiency and operational excellence programs.
• Build capability through mentoring, succession planning, talent development and employee engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, data centre or critical facilities environments.
• 5+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
