Principal Pharmacist (Maternity Cover)

About the role

Woodlands Hospital, part of NHG, is looking for a Principal Pharmacist to cover the Chief, Pharmacy during maternity leave, from 26 December to 27 April (21 weeks). The role covers the Chief's duties in their absence and involves supervising pharmacy operations, ensuring service standards and supporting patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and audit department performance indicators so that service standards are met, costs and revenue are accounted for and inventory control is effective.
• Keep adequate staffing across all Pharmacy Sections and streamline workflows.
• Audit adherence to department, hospital and external regulatory policies and regulations.
• Represent the department on committees and support hospital activities such as QC, community projects and staff welfare.
• Supervise subordinates, conduct appraisals, write reports and recommend confirmations, promotions and training needs.
• Monitor pharmaceutical care standards and take part in pharmacy education, including lectures and journal reading.
• Train pre-registration pharmacists and pharmacy students.
• Support the Chief, Pharmacy in setting policies and procedures, and cover the Chief's duties in their absence.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university recognised by the Singapore Pharmacy Council.
• More than 8 years of pharmacy work experience.
• Understanding and ability to run pharmacy operations and national pharmacy indicators.
• Registered with the Singapore Pharmacy Council and holds a valid practicing licence.
