Private Banker (Singapore & Malaysia Team)

About the role

Citi is hiring a Private Banker for its Singapore and Malaysia team. The role is a strategic position that requires strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate internally at a senior level and externally. It involves acting as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth clients and building long-term relationships across generations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify prospects, convert them into clients and build a referral network
• Act as a trusted advisor, anticipating events in a client's life and business with significant financial implications
• Manage client expectations, understand client goals and risk tolerance, and uncover unarticulated needs
• Develop tailored solutions covering investment, risk management and financing/liquidity needs, and set challenging goals with regular monitoring
• Plan and prioritise daily, weekly and monthly activities to maximise revenue growth and client satisfaction
• Close deals appropriately, help team members build credibility with clients and intermediaries, and partner with support groups to resolve issues
• Follow standard procedures, advocate appropriate exceptions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and controls
• Communicate the risks of investment strategies and uphold the highest standards of integrity
• Flag and report illegal or improper transactions and escalate issues promptly

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience
• Extensive, proven experience in private banking, including the UHNW market
• Experience working with and/or leading client teams and transactions
• Demonstrated track record in relationship selling
• Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree is good to have
