Process Specialist (Industrial Wastewater)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Process Specialist to lead the detailed design of industrial wastewater treatment facilities across Singapore. You will work on a variety of treatment technologies, ensuring robust, efficient, and compliant plant designs.

Key responsibilities

• Design detailed process systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, including screening, physical‑chemical, biological, odour control, disinfection, sludge handling, and desalination processes.
• Develop ancillary systems such as chemical feed, mechanical ventilation, and drainage.
• Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement and equipment layout drawings.
• Write process equipment specifications and review vendor submissions.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, instrumentation & control, and digital water teams.
• Lead HAZOP studies, client and contractor meetings, and support bid proposals.
• Create testing, commissioning, and start‑up plans and oversee execution.
• Stay updated on the latest water‑treatment technologies and integrate them into designs.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in process design of industrial water or wastewater treatment plants.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary projects and manage stakeholder discussions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on safety and compliance.

Required skills

• Process Flow Diagram (PFD) creation
• Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development
• HAZOP facilitation
• Water and wastewater treatment technologies (screening, chemical, biological, odour control, disinfection, sludge, desalination)
• Chemical feed and mechanical ventilation system design
• Vendor evaluation and specification writing
