Productivity Intelligence & Analytics Intern

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global medical technology company, is looking for a Productivity Intelligence & Analytics intern. The role covers metric governance, reporting automation and analytics, and operational and productivity insights, working with plant controllers, process owners and regional stakeholders. It is a full-time six-month internship starting in January 2027, based in Jurong East with occasional travel to the Tuas Avenue 2 plant.

Key responsibilities

• Document a regional metric dictionary (definitions, formulas, units, frequency, source, owner, inclusion/exclusion rules) and align with plant controllers and stakeholders before metrics are certified.
• Maintain data lineage from source through transformation and calculation to dashboard output, and set up validation checks and issue logs.
• Extend the governed semantic model rather than building disconnected datasets.
• Rebuild the BDE ISC report as a refreshable report and develop trackers for AI maturity, Yokoten/Kaizen/Shingijutsu progress, Ambassador Certification and headcount optimization.
• Analyze productivity, OEE, waste, labor efficiency, headcount and cost data, prepare insights for tier meetings and monthly reviews, and support benchmarking where data quality allows.
• Attend tier meetings and monthly CI reviews, follow up with plant owners on missing data and stalled charters, validate certification information, coordinate controller sign-off, train report owners and users, and complete a structured handover.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Available for a full-time six-month internship from January 2027.
• Strong interest in manufacturing, productivity, analytics and operational excellence.
• Willingness to work in office at Jurong East and travel to the Tuas Avenue 2 plant when required.

Required skills

• Practical SQL and Power BI, including data modelling.
• Preferred: Python, advanced DAX, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen or manufacturing-project experience, familiarity with SAP, MES, HR, Finance or manufacturing data, and experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SharePoint or Power Platform.
• Preferred: previous experience building dashboards for business users or reconciling data from multiple sources.
