Job description
About the role
JTC's Coastal Protection Division is looking for a Project Manager to help Singapore prepare for rising sea levels by developing practical solutions for its industrial coastline. The role sits at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure planning, policy, digital innovation and project delivery, working on long-term coastal protection strategies and on delivering critical infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Develop long-term coastal protection masterplans for industrial estates, integrating coastal protection needs with land-use planning, industrial redevelopment and lease renewal strategies, and plan infrastructure implementation within land, resource and operational constraints.
- Contribute to policies, implementation frameworks and funding approaches, working with government agencies and industry to turn national coastal protection objectives into practical strategies.
- Develop digital solutions for coastal infrastructure planning and management, such as tracking infrastructure inventories, land lease milestones, project timelines and resource requirements, and explore data analytics and digital tools.
- Plan and deliver coastal protection infrastructure from concept to completion, evaluating engineering solutions through geotechnical investigations, hydrodynamic and flood modelling and environmental impact studies, and manage consultants and contractors.
- Work with government agencies, industrial companies and technical specialists to resolve complex engineering, policy and implementation challenges, especially where coastal works interface with existing industrial operations.
Required profile
- Background in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience or interest in infrastructure planning, engineering, policy development, project implementation or digital solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to tackle complex challenges from technical and strategic angles.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work across multidisciplinary teams.
- An advantage: experience in coastal or marine engineering, drainage, land reclamation, geotechnical engineering, hydrodynamic modelling, environmental impact assessment or stakeholder engagement.
