Project Manager – Data Centre Development

About the role

Global Switch is seeking a Project Manager to lead the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of data centre development and fit‑out projects. You will own projects from inception to hand‑over, ensuring they meet time, cost, quality, and regulatory standards while managing risk, change, and contractor performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and review onsite safety procedures to meet mandatory and industry standards.
• Lead safety management across construction, design, and hand‑over phases.
• Liaise regularly with M&E consultants and power authorities to ensure correct electricity supply design and implementation.
• Monitor development, manage Change Control Requests and variations, and align them with contractual obligations.
• Oversee internal fit‑outs and project close‑out, ensuring design compliance and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Construction Manager, Engineering Directors, and Operations Managers.
• Coordinate multiple external consultants to meet project goals and delivery timelines.
• Prepare and distribute meeting documentation, including minutes, action trackers, and follow‑up reports.
• Assist in developing project briefs and consultant selection processes.

Required profile

• Proactive, organised leader with experience delivering complex construction or fit‑out projects in technical or highly regulated environments.
• Strong grasp of safety, compliance, and project governance.
• Confident in managing contractors, coordinating internal teams, and controlling schedules, risks, and costs.
• Clear communicator with thorough documentation skills.
• Commercially aware with technical understanding to drive operational readiness.
