Project Officer – AI‑Driven Scientific Data Curation

About the role

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at NTU is seeking a Project Officer to lead AI‑driven workflows that curate, augment and analyse scientific literature in chemistry‑related fields. You will work on designing rule‑based and agent‑based methods to assess data completeness, infer missing experimental parameters and standardise heterogeneous formats.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI‑driven data‑augmentation agents for literature curation.
• Apply expert‑defined rubrics to evaluate completeness and quality of extracted experimental data.
• Write Python scripts to infer derived parameters, standardise units and harmonise formats.
• Integrate external scientific databases and online resources to enrich curated datasets.
• Conduct statistical analyses and prepare proof‑of‑concept demonstrations across selected literature domains.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Data Science, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical mindset with solid documentation and communication abilities.
• Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain is an advantage.

Required skills

• Python programming for data processing, analysis and automation.
• Data processing and standardisation techniques.
• Statistical analysis of curated datasets.
• Familiarity with agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain).
