Project Officer – Computer Engineering & Data Science

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Project Officer to support cutting‑edge research in diffusion models and state‑space inference within NTU’s College of Computing and Data Science. The role involves literature review, method development, and dissemination of findings in top‑tier venues.

Key responsibilities

• Read, understand and summarise recent literature on diffusion models, especially for sampling from un‑normalized probability distributions.
• Review and summarise state‑space modelling techniques that employ particle filters.
• Design, implement and analyse new inference methods based on diffusion models.
• Publish research outcomes in reputable international journals and conferences.
• Present work and build research networks at international conferences.
• Participate in internal seminars, reading groups and other collaborative events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Independent, highly analytical, proactive and able to work effectively in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct innovative research and formulate testable hypotheses.
• Experience designing and executing experimental plans and reporting project progress.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
