Project Officer – LEAN4 Integration in Mathematics Teaching

About the role

We are seeking a Project Officer to support a research project at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The project investigates how integrating the formal proof assistant LEAN4 into university mathematics lectures can improve student understanding, engagement and learning outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing studies that evaluate LEAN4 integration in mathematics teaching.
• Coordinate data collection from classroom activities, surveys, assessments and other research instruments.
• Perform statistical analyses to assess the effectiveness of the educational interventions.
• Prepare reports, presentations and manuscripts for submission to educational research journals.
• Support the development and refinement of teaching materials that incorporate LEAN4.
• Carry out additional research‑related duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or a closely related discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience designing, conducting and analysing statistical studies or educational trials.
• Experience contributing to peer‑reviewed publications in pedagogy or mathematics education.
• Strong organisational abilities and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Familiarity with the formal proof assistant LEAN4.
