Public Relations Officer (Contract) – Singapore

About the role

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) will manage stakeholder relationships and media communications for a large construction project in Singapore. This is a 60‑month contract position based onsite, reporting to the project team and communications department.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, manage and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, media and public interest organisations.
• Respond to media requests, organise press conferences, and draft press releases and other communications.
• Provide advice and draft responses to enquiries from the public, press and related organisations.
• Build and maintain a positive image of the project, including proactive measures such as FAQs.
• Anticipate concerns, prepare for queries, and remain contactable for emergencies at any time.
• Attend to third‑party claims and project‑related meetings, both during and after office hours.
• Coordinate closely with the Project Team and the Employer’s Communications Department when media involvement occurs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in public engagement, preferably within construction projects.
• Organised with excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Creative mindset capable of handling diverse public‑relations situations.

• Contract duration: 60 months.
• Salary: SGD 6,500 – 7,000 per month (not publicly displayed).
• Work schedule: 5.5 days per week, onsite in the Woodlands area.
• Preference given to Singaporean candidates.
