Quantitative Researcher

About the role

DRW is seeking a Quantitative Researcher to develop mathematical models and automated trading strategies across multiple asset classes. You will work with clean data, powerful compute resources, and collaborate with experienced researchers, traders, and software developers.

Key responsibilities

• Extract predictive signals from financial data using statistical analysis and cutting‑edge machine learning techniques.
• Assist software developers in translating research strategies into production‑ready software.
• Optimize order execution and risk management for the trading system.
• Create robust solutions to challenges encountered in the trading environment.
• Formulate and apply mathematical modeling techniques to enhance existing strategies and explore new opportunities.
• Automate human‑decision‑based trading ideas by prototyping algorithmic trades.

Required profile

• A degree in a technical discipline focused on statistics, machine learning, signal processing, optimization or control, graduating between Dec 2026 and Aug 2027 (Bachelor, Master or PhD).
• Curiosity for model development and experience handling large data sets.
• Strong problem‑solving and statistical skills with the ability to lead assignments and deliver results on time.
• Ability to communicate ideas concisely and advocate for your approach within the team.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, R, MATLAB or C++.
• Application of machine‑learning algorithms to real‑world problems.
• Statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
• Handling and processing large data sets.
