Rail Design Development Engineer (Civil)

About the role

This role covers design management of railway projects, including new rail lines and the station rejuvenation programme. You will work with a team overseeing consultants who develop railway schemes for new and existing stations, new rail alignments, and strategies to tackle overcrowding and improve station accessibility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineering studies, both feasibility and advanced engineering studies
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and government agencies so their requirements are reflected in the design proposal
• Safeguard railway corridors, engage stakeholders and operators, and secure planning approvals and project budgets
• Prepare design briefs, review design drawings and tender documents, and take part in tender evaluation leading to consultant or contractor awards
• Develop and review engineering standards and provide technical support for project implementation

Required profile

• Civil or Structural Engineering knowledge, or equivalent
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Civil/Structural Engineering design; railway project design experience is an advantage
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Candidates with strong relevant experience may be considered for senior roles
