R&D Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Halliburton is seeking a motivated R&D Mechanical Engineer to join its Singapore team. You will work on hardware design for product changes and new developments, contributing to the company’s innovative solutions for the global energy industry.

Key responsibilities

• Apply functional specifications and engineering tools to design hardware for product modifications and new development projects.
• Process data, write engineering reports, and diagnose routine hardware malfunctions independently.
• Conduct reliability analyses, including risk assessments and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), by compiling and examining data.
• Identify system‑level testing requirements, ensuring compliance with test standards and Halliburton’s Health, Safety, and Environment procedures.
• Prepare Invention Disclosures and recognize intellectual property opportunities without revealing confidential information.
• Coordinate with project leads to produce deliverables, assess input requirements, and apply functional specifications.
• Develop relationships through effective communication and act as a resource for innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (master’s preferred).
• Minimum two years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree that may waive the experience requirement.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and contribute to team goals.
• Willingness to participate in professional societies related to the specialization.
