Regional Tax Manager – APAC

About the role

The Regional Tax Manager for APAC will act as a trusted business partner to finance and operational teams across the region. You will translate complex tax issues into clear guidance, manage tax controversies and audits, and support cross‑border projects, M&A activity and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strong partnerships with country finance teams, providing technical tax expertise and risk‑management advice.
• Communicate complex tax matters clearly to non‑tax stakeholders and review tax positions and provision recommendations with management.
• Manage and challenge external advisors in APAC jurisdictions as needed.
• Lead controversy management for income tax, VAT/GST and Transfer Pricing queries, audits and litigations, planning defence strategies and mitigating risks.
• Coordinate stakeholder management to ensure tax outcomes are secured across multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide strategic tax advice for M&A, new business initiatives and other projects, ensuring compliance in a time‑sensitive environment.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Professional or equivalent qualification; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Taxation or related field.
• 5+ years of tax experience in a multinational corporation or professional advisory firm, with strong international tax knowledge across APAC.
• Proven experience in tax advisory, risk management, controversy handling and Transfer Pricing.
• Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail and the capacity to identify tax risks and trends.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, able to influence senior leaders.
• Collaborative mindset, comfortable working across diverse cultures and functions.
