Registered Nurse Educator – Upper River Valley (RNCA)

About the role

The Upper River Valley Registered Nurse Class A – Educator (RNCA) is responsible for planning, designing, delivering and evaluating learning activities for Horizon Health staff. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role supports continuous professional development across multiple facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate computer training and order‑entry sessions.
• Deliver Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention, Safe Patient Handling, Gentle Persuasive Approach, and Pinel Restraint trainings.
• Assess educational needs using adult‑education tools and develop appropriate learning solutions.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate both instructor‑led and e‑learning programs.
• Promote ongoing professional development and collaborate with colleagues and clients.
• Travel occasionally to other Horizon facilities to provide instruction.

Required profile

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing and active registration with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick.
• Minimum five years recent acute‑care nursing experience.
• Formal training in adult education or equivalent experience, with willingness to obtain further training.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Ability to travel, attend work regularly and perform physical duties.

Required skills

• BLS Instructor certification (or in process).
• Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention Instructor certification (or in process).
• Gentle Persuasive Approach Instructor certification (or in process).
• Experience with technology and virtual communication platforms.
• Proficiency in developing and evaluating e‑learning content.
