Remote Nurse Subject Matter Expert (AI Data Services)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Registered Nurse to join SME Careers as a remote contractor. In this role you will act as a Subject Matter Expert, reviewing and creating AI‑generated nursing content, ensuring clinical accuracy, safety and clarity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed prompts and gold‑standard answers for a wide range of nursing care topics, including assessment, triage, patient education and documentation.
• Evaluate AI‑generated responses, rating them for correctness, reasoning quality, safety and adherence to clinical guidelines.
• Identify and flag inaccurate, unsafe or biased information, providing precise written feedback and model solutions.
• Fact‑check clinical information and ensure consistency with current nursing standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (or equivalent) with active licensure/registration in at least one jurisdiction.
• 3–5+ years of professional nursing experience in clinical or community settings.
• Strong clinical assessment skills, including vital signs interpretation, red‑flag recognition and safe handoffs.
• Excellent attention to detail and minimum C1 level English proficiency.
• Self‑directed, reliable and able to work across time zones in an hourly remote contractor workflow.

Required skills

• Experience with AI data training or annotation (preferred).
• Background in clinical documentation review, utilization review, nursing education or healthcare editorial QA.
