Repair Engineer – Equipment Maintenance & Upgrades

About the role

The Repair Engineer will lead the repair, testing and upgrade of oil‑and‑gas equipment, ensuring all work follows NOV specifications and customer requirements. You will act as the technical liaison between chargehands, technicians, engineering, quality and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Guide chargehands and technicians to perform repairs according to NOV repair specifications and procedures.
• Ensure equipment is tested per NOV test procedures or FAT documents with customer representatives present.
• Implement all required upgrades and PIBs on repaired equipment.
• Complete all aftermarket repair forms (D9 documents) for each repair.
• Liaise with engineering, QC, internal machine shop and vendors on repair scope, quotations and work‑process specifications.
• Compile inspection and final reports for all repaired or overhauled equipment.
• Assist in preparing quotations, scope of work and recommended parts lists.
• Provide technical support to internal shops, vendors and customers and drive continuous improvement.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on HSE issues, act as competency assessor and witness critical quality hold points when required.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in equipment repair or overhaul within the oil‑and‑gas or related industrial sector.
• Proven ability to work safely, allocate manpower, conduct toolbox meetings and stop unsafe activities.
