Research Assistant - Clinical Studies

About the role

NHG is looking for a Research Assistant to assist and support Principal Investigators in their clinical research activities, from study start-up through to study closure. The role covers patient screening, recruitment, data management and liaison with agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Screen eligible patients for recruitment and collect specimens
• Recruit participants and obtain informed consent
• Manage research data, data entry, data cleaning and ethics/legal compliance
• Liaise with internal and external agencies
• Monitor the financial aspects of the assigned study and advise the PI
• Ensure timely submission of progress reports and renewal of ECOS approvals
• Carry out other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Required profile

• Diploma in Biomedical Science or equivalent
• Experience in academic or clinical research is advantageous
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin; Malay and Tamil are an added advantage
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Team-oriented, with strong coordination and organisational skills
• Able to work independently and handle several projects at once
