Research Assistant

About the role

NHG Polyclinics, the primary care arm of NHG Health serving 1.5 million residents in Central and North Singapore, is looking for a Research Assistant. The role provides operational and administrative support for research projects, assisting Principal Investigators and study teams with study coordination, participant screening and recruitment, data collection and management, regulatory submissions and project tracking so that research follows approved protocols, ethical standards and institutional requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Principal Investigator with grant funding, regulatory and IRB approvals, and manage the approved study budget where applicable.
• Oversee multi-site study coordination and monitor study progress with regular reviews of the study team and the Clinical Research Unit (CRU).
• Perform screening according to eligibility criteria and assist in recruitment; schedule study visits and follow up participants.
• Report adverse events, abnormalities and protocol deviations to the PI and CRU, and ensure they are reported to the granting body, regulator and IRB as applicable.
• Maintain research data integrity and study documentation, and help prepare study presentations and materials.

Required profile

• Minimum degree holder in Biomedical/Health Sciences or a related discipline.
• 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred; prior clinical research experience is advantageous.
• Strong interest in primary care research and good interpersonal skills.
• Good organization, coordination and administrative skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Preferred: knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), medical and research terminology and ethics.
• Preferred: ability to conduct statistical analyses and proficiency in Python, R, C++ or similar tools for data manipulation, analysis and modelling.
