Research Assistant – Learning Sciences & Assessment

About the role

The National Institute of Education (NIE) is seeking a Research Assistant for a 24‑month fixed‑term contract within the Learning Sciences and Assessment Department. The role supports a project investigating curiosity, 21st‑century competencies, and self‑directed learning in Ministry of Education (MOE) secondary schools.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on learning sciences and assessment.
• Liaise with MOE schools and research partners to coordinate data collection.
• Manage data collection, cleaning, and quantitative analysis of survey and digital device data.
• Assist in preparing project reports, presentations, and academic papers.
• Support project administration, including meeting coordination, documentation, and tasks assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in quantitative research methods, especially survey design and analysis.
• One year of research experience preferred (fresh graduates are welcome).
• Experience working with MOE schools.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as generative AI chatbots to support research activities.
