Research Assistant – Learning Technology (Science of Learning Centre)

About the role

The National Institute of Education seeks a Research Assistant for a 6‑month renewable contract to support the CHARM study, which develops neuro‑psychology‑based learning pedagogy for middle‑aged adults.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, configure and maintain e‑learning platforms such as Moodle or WordPress LMS, including installation, plugin setup and course structuring.
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform stability, security and regular updates.
• Assist in designing, implementing and managing online learning activities, digital content and resources for the study.
• Monitor system performance, generate usage analytics, and contribute to data extraction and reporting as required.
• Support integration of learning tools, third‑party applications and xAPI/LRS connections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education Technology or a related field.
• Prior experience as a platform administrator for Moodle, WordPress LMS or similar systems.
• Experience supporting online or digital learning environments in educational or research contexts.
• Ability to work independently, proactively and collaboratively within a research team.
