Research Assistant, Neuroscience

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) at NTU is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support bench‑work and administrative tasks in a laboratory focused on genetics and genomics of neurological diseases, specifically functional characterization of Parkinson’s disease‑associated genes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cell culturing and maintenance, gene editing, RT‑qPCR, Western blot, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry and mass spectrometry experiments.
• Prepare samples for mass spectrometry/lipidomics and transcriptomics analyses.
• Document and report experimental procedures and results, optimise protocols and troubleshoot as needed.
• Coordinate transfer of cells and samples with external collaborators.
• Provide administrative project support, including budget tracking, procurement of laboratory consumables and general lab maintenance.
• Train and guide new staff or interns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical or Life Sciences.
• At least one year of experience in a research environment, or recent graduate with relevant internship experience.
