Research Assistant/Associate – QC Chemist (Clinical Imaging)

About the role

The Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine seeks a Research Assistant/Associate to work as a Quality Control (QC) Chemist. You will ensure the safe release of PET radiopharmaceuticals by performing required analytical tests and maintaining compliance with PIC/S GMP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct analytical chemistry testing (HPLC, GC, radio‑TLC) on radiopharmaceutical products.
• Support investigational testing for production runs when needed.
• Manage environmental and airborne particle monitoring in cleanroom facilities.
• Perform routine microbiological testing, including sterility and bioburden assessments.
• Oversee raw material inventory, purchasing, receiving, and record‑keeping.
• Develop, optimise, and validate QC test methods for product release.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation (SOPs, work instructions, validation protocols, batch records).
• Maintain QC laboratory equipment – qualification, calibration, preventive maintenance, and re‑qualification.

Required profile

Required skills

• Proficiency with HPLC, GC, and radio‑TLC techniques.
• Experience in environmental monitoring and cleanroom compliance.
• Knowledge of microbiological testing procedures (sterility, bioburden).
• Ability to manage inventory and documentation in a GMP environment.
• Familiarity with method development, optimisation, and validation for QC release.
• Understanding of PIC/S GMP regulations.
