Research Associate, AI for Medicine

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is seeking a Research Associate to lead pioneering work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, medical imaging, and surgical robotics. You will develop and adapt AI tools that directly support clinicians, radiologists, and biologists in everyday practice and cutting‑edge research.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI models for multimodal medical data (MRI, CT, X‑ray, OCT, ultrasound) to achieve high‑precision organ segmentation, 3D modeling, and intelligent diagnosis.
• Explore and integrate large‑scale pre‑trained models, including large language models, into medical consultation and disease‑management systems.
• Develop, test, and optimise AI software for diverse medical tasks, ensuring robustness in real‑world clinical environments.
• Manage multimodal medical datasets using secure data‑storage technologies while maintaining privacy and compliance.
• Collaborate with clinicians and researchers to tailor algorithms to specific medical use‑cases.

Required profile

• Strong background in AI research applied to medical imaging or related biomedical domains.
• Experience handling multimodal medical datasets and translating algorithmic outputs into clinically useful tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams of clinicians, radiologists, and biologists.
