Research Associate – Large Language Models in Education

About the role

NTU's College of Computing and Data Science is seeking a Research Associate to advance AI-driven solutions for education. The role focuses on large language models (LLMs) to automate essay grading, generate meaningful feedback, and transform lecture slides into explanatory content.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evaluate LLM‑based algorithms for educational applications.
• Prepare, clean, and analyse datasets related to student writing and lecture materials.
• Develop prototype systems for automatic grading and feedback generation.
• Assess the accuracy, reliability, and fairness of the AI outputs.
• Collaborate with the project team on research publications and technology integration.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in Computer Science.
• Independent, highly analytical, proactive, and a strong team player.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of generative AI and experience working with large language models.
• Ability to formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and adapt novel approaches.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
