Research Associate – Mechanical Engineering/Bioengineering

About the role

The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) at NTU seeks a Research Associate to develop in‑vitro bioelectronic tissue models through biofabrication and biomaterials engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise biofabrication workflows for cell‑laden hydrogel constructs and conductive biomaterials.
• Perform 3D bioprinting, post‑processing, and electrical stimulation of tissue platforms.
• Conduct mammalian cell culture, biological assays, microscopy imaging and quantitative analysis.
• Support electrochemical and materials characterisation experiments.
• Maintain experimental records, assist manuscript preparation and contribute to lab operations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in tissue engineering, biomaterials, biofabrication or cell‑culture research.
• Proficiency in sterile techniques, hydrogel preparation and bioink handling.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet strict timelines and keep meticulous records.
