Research Associate – Spatial Environmental Health & AI Exposure Modelling

About the role
The Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Health (CCEH) at NTU is seeking a Research Associate to advance spatial environmental health research. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess how climate change, air pollution, and urban factors influence human health across Singapore and Asia.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, integrate, and analyse climate, environmental, land‑use, remote sensing, socioeconomic and health data.
- Apply spatial analysis, machine learning, land‑use regression and spatiotemporal modelling to generate exposure estimates and visual maps.
- Support the preparation of scientific publications, reports and policy briefs.
- Collaborate with internal and external research partners to strengthen the evidence base for public‑health and climate‑adaptation strategies.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in GIS, geography, environmental health, public health, epidemiology, data science, climate science or a related field.
- Research experience in environmental exposure assessment, spatial analysis, land‑use regression, environmental epidemiology or related areas.
- Proven ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
Required skills
- Proficiency in R and Python for statistical and geospatial analysis.
- Experience with GIS software and Google Earth Engine.
- Familiarity with machine‑learning and AI techniques applied to environmental health data.
