Research Fellow (CO2 Capture)

About the role

The Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI) at NTU is recruiting a Research Fellow for CO2 capture. The post holder carries out full research work and administrative duties during the term of employment, working within the institute's focus on water circularity, waste solutions, resource recovery and climate resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project execution and communication among collaborating parties.
• Work with the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on experimental design, experiments, troubleshooting and data analysis.
• Upgrade and operate a pilot-scale circulating fluidized bed system and manage the day-to-day operation of the reactor apparatus.
• Procure consumables and research equipment.
• Write and publish research papers and communicate findings to collaborators, funding agencies and the scientific community.
• Train research associates and assistants on the project skills.
• Summarise project findings and produce progress reports, the final report and scientific recommendations.

Required profile

• At least a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• Experience developing CO2 sorbents, especially calcium-based sorbents for circulating fluidized beds.
• Extensive knowledge of treatment and reuse of incineration ashes is highly desired.
• Good record of peer-reviewed papers is advantageous.
