Research Fellow – Cryptography

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow to advance its cryptography research agenda. You will join Prof. Ling San’s laboratory within the Strategic Centre for Research in Privacy-Preserving Technologies & Systems (SCRiPTS) and contribute to world‑class projects on verifiable computation, secure multi‑party computation, federated learning, blockchain, and trusted execution environments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality cryptography research, targeting at least two publications per year in top journals and conferences.
• Assist the Principal Investigator with drafting research papers and grant proposals.
• Supervise and mentor a small team of postgraduate and undergraduate students.
• Develop privacy‑preserving techniques, including Verifiable Computation (VC), Multi‑Party Computation (MPC), Federated Learning (FL), blockchain, and Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) solutions.
• Implement VC and MPC methods within FL, blockchain, and TEE contexts.

Required profile

• PhD in Mathematics or Computer Science with a strong publication record (candidates about to submit their thesis are also welcome).
• Proficiency in programming (preferred).
• Post‑doctoral research experience in related areas is an advantage.
• Demonstrated knowledge and research experience in cryptography.
