Research Fellow (Geophysics/Geomechanical)

About the role

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to contribute to marine geophysics and geomechanics projects. The role involves developing innovative survey methods and applying advanced data analytics within a leading sustainable built‑environment research centre.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in research projects focused on marine geophysics and data analytics.
• Develop marine geophysical survey techniques and machine‑learning algorithms.
• Process and analyse geophysical and geomechanical data using machine learning.
• Conduct research, supervise undergraduate students, and author project reports and scientific articles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in geophysics and a PhD in geophysics or geomechanics from a recognised university.
• Good knowledge of geophysics and geomechanics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Experience in geophysical/geomechanical investigation and machine learning (desired).
• At least one year of research or working experience in geophysics (desired).
