Research Fellow

About the role

NHG is recruiting a Research Fellow to lead research projects across designated research themes. The role covers planning, overseeing and monitoring projects, analysing data, presenting findings and mentoring junior researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop research projects in the designated research themes
• Plan, develop, oversee and monitor research projects
• Perform literature reviews, analyse and interpret research data
• Publish in peer-reviewed local and international journals and present papers at local and international conferences
• Write and review research proposals, grant applications, papers, presentations and conference abstracts
• Present findings to relevant stakeholders
• Provide regular research training within the department
• Develop research networks with local and foreign institutions and universities
• Supervise research assistants and research coordinators, and mentor junior team members
• Plan and oversee research events such as expert visits, writing clubs, workshops and committee meetings

Required profile

• PhD in health services research, clinical research or another relevant discipline
• At least 2 years of experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods and healthcare programme evaluation
• Track record of first-author publications in medical, health services or public health literature preferred
• Proven ability to initiate and manage research projects, and prior research experience in a healthcare setting
• Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python and R
• Experience with statistical techniques and familiarity with IRB/DSRB applications
• Proficiency in literature search and reference management software (e.g. EndNote)
• Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills; experience with aging-related research is a plus
