About the role
The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a motivated Research Fellow to advance photonic integration technologies. You will work within a vibrant academic environment, contributing to cutting‑edge projects that bridge laser design and quantum photonics.
Key responsibilities
- Design high‑performance integrated lasers.
- Create and maintain a quantum photonic device library.
- Perform photonic device‑level characterization.
- Develop large‑scale photonic integration solutions.
- Characterize complete photonic systems.
Required profile
- PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., photonics, electrical engineering, applied physics).
- Minimum of four years’ experience in laser and photonic design.
- Strong written and oral communication abilities.
- Capacity to work independently under strict timelines with excellent organization.
- Entry‑level candidates are also encouraged to apply.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Ansys Lumerical.
- Experience using Tidy3D.
- Programming in Python.
- Competence in MATLAB.
- Familiarity with GDSfactory.
