Research Fellow (Physics) - Quantum Information Science

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for a research position in quantum information science. The successful candidate will work on quantum resources and correlations and explore their implications for quantum communication and related information-theoretic protocols. The role involves independent research, publishing in leading journals, contributing to grant activities and collaborating in an active quantum research environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality research in quantum information theory, quantum resource theories and quantum correlations, including temporal and operational correlations.
• Develop theoretical frameworks connecting quantum resources to quantum communication and related protocols.
• Publish research findings in leading peer-reviewed journals.
• Contribute to grant deliverables and help identify new funding opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal and external research partners.
• Supervise graduate students and mentor junior researchers where applicable.
• Contribute to seminars, workshops and academic service activities within the Department.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics or a related discipline, with a strong research track record in quantum information theory or quantum foundations.
• Expertise in quantum correlations, coherence, entanglement or resource theories.
• Strong analytical skills and a publication record.
• Experience with quasiprobability methods or operational approaches to quantumness is advantageous.
