About the role
The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at Nanyang Technological University, a leading international research community, is seeking a Research Fellow to support the Automated Loose Baggage Handling System project (NYALA) for narrow‑body aircraft.
Key responsibilities
- Work on exciting robotics design, developing novel mechanisms for baggage handling.
- Perform simulation in a physics‑based framework such as MUJOCO to model system dynamics.
- Apply reinforcement learning techniques for trajectory planning of robotic manipulators.
Required profile
- Hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate a strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals or conferences.
- Show creativity and a problem‑solving attitude.
Required skills
- Proficiency with MUJOCO physics‑based simulation environment.
- Experience applying reinforcement learning for robotic trajectory planning.
