Research Fellow – Robotics Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Robotics Autonomy Software Engineer to advance autonomy and data intelligence of underwater robotic systems for inspection of submerged infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement algorithms for structural anomaly detection from sensor data (e.g., camera, sonar).
• Conduct simulation and field trials, including data collection, processing, and analysis.
• Integrate algorithms into operational AUV platforms with cross‑disciplinary teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, research publications, and project deliverables.

Required profile

• PhD (or near completion) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent strong technical experience.
• Proven experience in autonomous systems, robotic perception, and 3D computer vision, with a track record of research execution.

Required skills

• Python and C++ programming.
• Robot Operating System (ROS).
• Machine learning and signal processing for anomaly detection.
• 3D reconstruction, point‑cloud processing, and sensor fusion.
• Linux, Docker, and Git version control.
• Deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
