Research Fellow – Terahertz Photonics

About the role
The National Centre for Advanced Integrated Photonics (NCAIP) at NTU is seeking a Research Fellow to advance terahertz (THz) photonic devices and interconnects for next‑generation high‑speed communications. The role involves hands‑on research, device simulation, and experimental validation within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on THz photonics and high‑speed communication technologies.
- Execute research tasks assigned by the Principal Investigator, including device design and fabrication.
- Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present results at conferences.
- Perform simulations and extensive analysis for device development and optimization using appropriate software tools.
- Carry out THz communication experiments and photonic characterisation measurements.
Required profile
- PhD in Applied Physics, Electronics & Communication, or a related field focused on THz/MM‑wave photonics.
- Demonstrated R&D experience in terahertz photonics and high‑speed communication systems.
- Strong communication abilities and a proven aptitude for leading translational research projects.
- Solid understanding of fundamental photonic device principles and system integration.
- Familiarity with modelling and testing photonics‑based devices.
