Research Fellow – Wearable Robotics & Biomechanics

About the role

We are seeking a Research Fellow to lead independent research in wearable robotics and biomechanics, developing innovative technologies such as exoskeletons, powered prostheses and balance augmentation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead independent research and develop new research directions and proposals in wearable robotics, biomechanics and assistive technologies.
• Design, develop and validate robotic systems through computational modelling, system development and experimental studies.
• Publish high‑quality journal and conference papers and present findings at scholarly venues.
• Mentor and supervise students, fostering a collaborative research environment.

Required profile

• PhD (or near completion) in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting.
• Demonstrated research experience with peer‑reviewed publications and experience in robotic or wearable system development is preferred.

Required skills

• Expertise in robotics, control, biomechanics, wearable robotics, human movement, sensing or artificial intelligence.
• Proficiency in programming and data analysis using MATLAB, Python, C/C++ or equivalent tools.
• Experience with computational modelling, experimental design and human‑subject experiments.
