Research Physicist - Freelance AI Trainer

About the role

We are looking for a freelance Research Physicist to help train AI systems by creating realistic, computationally intensive physics problems. The work is project‑based, remote, and supports leading tech companies in testing and improving their AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Design original optics problems that simulate real physics research workflows.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes.
• Develop problem sets covering mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
• Base problems on real research challenges or practical applications from optics and physics practice.
• Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in applied research, teaching, or related work.
• Strong written English proficiency (C1 level or higher).
• Creative thinking and ability to design problems that mirror real research workflows.

Required skills

• Numerical simulation methods.
• Physics modeling and approximation techniques.

What we offer

• Project‑based freelance contract with flexible hours (estimated 10–20 hours per week during active phases).
• Compensation up to $35 per hour, depending on expertise and contribution speed.
