Research Scientist - Laser Additive Manufacturing

About the role

The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) at NTU is a research centre focused on additive manufacturing, working across biomedical, construction, aerospace, marine and offshore sectors. The Research Scientist helps the principal investigator carry out a research project on laser additive manufacturing in collaboration with an industrial partner.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the project according to its defined milestones and deliverables.
• Carry out hands-on experiments to meet deliverables and KPIs.
• Write and prepare communications content and interface with the industry and funding agency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, materials or manufacturing engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in engineering research or hands-on work in additive manufacturing or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in laser directed energy deposition additive manufacturing.
• Knowledge of the relationship between microstructures and mechanical properties of metallic materials.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
