Resident Engineer

About the role

Surbana Jurong is looking for a Resident Engineer to manage a team of technical supervisors on site and lead planning, design and supervision of civil and structural works. The role works closely with the SO Rep Assistant, professional engineers, regulatory authorities and contractors to solve site problems and ensure timely project completion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of technical supervisors so that all works comply with regulatory and client requirements.
• Work with the SO Rep Assistant, professional engineers, regulators and contractors to provide planning, design and supervision leadership.
• Implement and sustain the site supervision quality and safety assurance system.
• Supervise structural and geotechnical works and identify non-conformities in contractor works.
• Understand drawings and contract documents to carry out the works.
• Carry out regular site checks and ensure compliance with health and work safety under MOM regulations.
• Attend site progress and technical meetings with the project team and client to resolve issues.
• Ensure proper management of site documentation such as meeting minutes, safety records, method statements, shop drawings and as-built submissions.

Required profile

• Relevant degree from a recognised university and registration as a Resident Engineer with IES.
• Minimum 5 years of civil and structural work experience with strong knowledge of precast structures, structural steel and local construction practices.
• Good supervisory and leadership skills, and effective communication with people at all levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
• AutoCAD and BIM knowledge preferred.
