Resident Physician II

About the role

Woodlands Hospital, part of NHG, is an integrated acute and community hospital in Singapore offering specialist outpatient clinics and care models beyond the hospital walls. The Resident Physician II provides comprehensive patient care in their chosen discipline under the supervision of specialist doctors, working as part of a multidisciplinary team that supports service expansion, the training of junior doctors and quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate active clinical competency in the selected discipline, based on experience from the past three years
• Deliver high-quality patient care while adapting to rapidly changing clinical situations in a fast-paced environment
• Apply sound clinical judgement and comprehensive patient management, drawing on at least three years of experience as a Medical Officer
• Use advanced clinical expertise from postgraduate qualifications such as Master's degrees, diplomas or specialty training to manage complex cases
• Maintain excellent communication with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams, with strong spoken and written English
• Ensure clinical practice meets Singapore Medical Council standards and stay registered or meet registration criteria
• Work effectively in dynamic environments, including emergency situations, and contribute to quality improvement

Required profile

• MBBS qualification and substantial clinical experience
• Postgraduate qualifications and specialty training
• Eligible for registration with the Singapore Medical Council as a qualified medical practitioner
• Singapore citizen or permanent resident with valid residency status
• Current and valid SMC practising certificate
• Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate
• Medical malpractice indemnity coverage
